New to the University of Waikato?

Make a Connect Account

Once you have your Connect Account you can:

  • begin your Application to Study (which takes about 15 minutes)
  • save your progress and return anytime

To complete your Application to Study you'll need:

  • an idea of the qualification you'd like to study (explore our qualifications)
  • details of your secondary school and any previous study.

International students

After applying, there are additional requirements including:

  • proof of English language skills
  • study visas and medical insurance

Next steps

After you submit your application to study:

  • we review your application
  • if successful, you'll receive an Offer of Place
  • accept your Offer of Place, choose your papers, and complete enrolment

If you currently live in Africa or Pakistan, you may need to apply through an authorised agent. This is because of the large number of applications we receive from your region. If there is no agent in your region, please complete this webform so we can help you.

You do not need to apply through an agent if:

  • You are applying for a PhD
  • You currently live in Mauritius or South Africa
  • You are a citizen of an African country or Pakistan but live elsewhere. When applying online, you will need to upload a proof of residency document such as a valid visa or ID card.

Continuing application / returning to study?

Use either your Connect Account or Waikato Account to:

  • continue your saved Application to Study
  • re-enrol
  • apply for a new qualifaction
